Default Arlen Ness complete lowering kit

Has any one used this kit? It comes with the parts to lower the the front & back plus a diff. kickstand for 180.95 list. Fat book says it lowers FXST 2 1/2 in front & 1 1/2 rear.

I used the Arlen Ness kit for the rear of mine. Front is stock height. You can get more than 1 1/2" out of it. Mine is down about 3 inches. Price isn't too bad and it's easy to install if you have the right equipment. Front is also easy.

The Ness kit uses shorterdampnening rods to lower the front, I think thisis better than using shorter springs. But 2.5 seems like alot in the front. Anybody here lowered their Train that much (2 1/2 ") in the front. These bikes look cool slammed but I'm wondering what its going to do to the handling.

I used that very kit.

It handles fine. I haven't entered it into any sportbike races yet but an average rider would be hard pressed to even notice a difference in handling.

As for the rear.....it goes lower than 2 1/2 inches...I assure you.

I lowered the rear end with the kit and am still debating lowering the front. Back was pretty easy, you will need a press to take the shocks apart. The front looks a little complicated, but I'm going to give it a try this weekend.

Thanks Hammer, I had looked at your bike before and could tell you lowered the front & rear. [sm=icon_rock.gif]Looks good. Is the kickstand a good quality piece?

The kickstand looks fine...I couldn't use it on mine as it is different than the 07 kickstand.

Should work if you have an earlier model though. It's at least as good as the stocker.

Hammer, I really like the front and rear slammed look of your bike. What kind of handlebars do you have? They appear to havesome decent rise and pullback compared to the stock drag bars. Cool train !!!
