Default UPDATED DYNA-SPORTSTER WINDSHIELD STEREO CASE FINISHED (VERSION 2)

ok, well some of you might know or mightnot know, that ive been coming up with a stereo case for detachable and rigid mounted windshields for about a year. well iam finally done with it. all i have to do now is finalize a few cutting fixture, then it will be complete. monday iam going to order all my materails and hardware for the cases. well here is another one of my crazy ideas, inthe world of madness i live in, hope you enjoy. i made it so it attaches to your windshield, not on your handle bars. i made it with a quick disconnect (fused) power line, for easy removal when detaching the windsheild. the case measure 17-3/4in.length x 7-1/4in. width x 4.0in. deep. i use 1/4 thick rubber washer for anti-vibration, for mounting the case to thewindshield, also use rubber bumb stopsfor cushioners. i have a threaded rod that screws into the bottom of the radio to the bottom of the case to secure the radio in place(rubber mounted also). the case is made of 1/8 thick ABS molded plastic. i seal the cases with black silocone for waterproofing. i use 12black aluminum 1/2 head rivets to secure the case together (rustproof). i use all stainless steel hardware also to mount the case( rustproof). the stereo i used is a kenwood (mp3 ready)strereoand marine kenwood speakers (6-1/2" speakers), i used a power antenna, i bought for 20.00 and stuck it inside the case itself, so you dont see the antenna.i also mounted a pouch in my saddle bag for my mp3 player. i just ran a 6ft radio jack from my mp3 player to my radio, running the wire under my tank and under my seat, the same way i did my power line for the case. you can also mount a pouch in the center of the case, between the speakers for a mp3 player or stuff. but here it is finally. the last thing i need to do is put a marine cover on top of the faceplate of the stereo, so it will be completely waterproof. the speaker covers are bulky, if you ask me, but thats what came with the speakers.jackyl

i have V&H bigshots on my bike and i hear it crystal clear on half volume while at high speeds. it rocks

please: tell me what you think

I like it man... Looks good.... One suggestion though, add a weatherproof cover on the CD player... When you getg things together and a price, I think they'd sell like hotcakes... Good luck!

Why to go jackyl on your new mod.
More creature comforts on them long rides.

I have aQuick-Release Windshield for sale like the one used in
these photos if anyone wants it to get started on your own
“stereo case mod”.

The bigger question is when will production start? How does it effect the feel of the bike if at all. Seems to be really bulky but you need the space for the speakers to perform correctly. I would really like to have some tunes to listen to on the ride into work. It look like a really slick set up.

...add a weatherproof cover on the CD player...
I agree...a tinted cover would could help protect the head unit from UV and rain...not to mention act as a visor to make it easier to read the display when the sun is shinin' down strong.

Awesome Idea jackyl. When I get my ride back together I'll have to see if I've got room for one. If not...I'll keep it in mind if I ever decide to change bars. I also need to make room for your tank lift.

Good work.
