Default TIE DOWN SETUP IN TRAILER

Hello All,

I recently bought a 6X10 enclosed trailer for my Road king. Can anyone point me in the right direction. loking for a correct spacing to install in the floor tie downs with steel plates bolted from under deck. Looked on the web for other people layouts with no luck

Thanks

This site sells a wheel chock that I plan to buy to install in my enclosed trailer. I think they also have some info on tie down points.

Ideally, proper tie down points should be at a 45 degree angle from the bike to the floor. This means that your placement of your floor latch should be the same distance out from the bike as the distance from the floor directly below your bike tie off point, up to your tie off point on the bike. DO NOT TIE OFF TO YOU HANDLE BARS, IT'S TROUBLE WAITING TO HAPPEN. That said, I tie off like this with all pressure pulling forward into my wheel chock:

tooch69, follow soos,s pictures and you cant go wrong. Mine is set up just like that, and I drive fast and hard. My ultra has never offered to move. I have found with mine, when loading, I place a 2x8 about 24 in. long on the floor by the jiffy stand and when I stop I put the board under the jiffy stand to make the bike sit up straighter, so strapping it down, is easier. I dont leave it there. it,s just for convenience. Dan

I have a six by twelve. I went down both sides, measuring in 12 inches from the walls and spacing 12 inches apart the entire length. I went along the walls three feet up and also every 12 inches.
They are all 1500 lb d rings.
This set up has never failed me in anything I want to tie, be it a bike or furniture.

I would agree 45 degrees but i would use an etrack system instead of the d-ring mounts on the floor. I have used trailers to haul lots of equipment and the etrack system is better for more purposes just encase one day have to haul something other than your Harley.

Soos,

Is your bike straight into the chock or do you have the front wheel on an angle. Tomorrow I am putting wheel chocks in my trailer I just bought. Convient that this topic was brought up.

Thanks
