Default Brake Squeak

Does anyone have a way to stop brake squeak. My front brakes started a week ago and hasn't stopped yet. Washedafter it started, same thing. Does it only when brake is applied. About 2600 miles on the clock. Bought new Nov. of 06. Any help please...

Thanks

BrewGod,

Do a search regarding this but the short of it is that the dealer needs to swap the left and right rotors. I had mine done last month and the noise went away.

You can do the rotor thing, but a set of Lyndall Z pads will core your problem and give you better stopping power.I put them on all three of my calipers at 1100 miles and now have 6100 miles and no squeak.I didn't have my rotors swapped.

I thought HD started swapping the rotors at the factory from late 06 an later.

You can easily tell if your's have been swapped already. They are stamped 'left' and 'right', so you should be able to look at them and see if the right one says 'left' and vice-versa. If not, swap them out yourself. It only took me about an hour or so. Just make sure that the rotors line up so that the holes and cut-outs are in the same position, relative to each other, on both sides.

Talked to my dealer, he said they are not covered under waranty to be replaced. He said some noise is common. (of course he would say that)
