Installed Kuryakyn 4827 and 4825 kits w/pics - updated 9-23-07
I had previously installed the Kuryakyn 3173 curved sidemount license plate holder along with the Kuryakyn 4959 LED low profile smoked taillight. I had the smoked turn signal lenses with amber bulbs but it just didn't seem to look right for me so I installed the Kuryakyn 4827 LED conversion kit on the rear to finish the rear end off. The kit has the LED board mounted to the new smoked lens/chrome bezel with a build in adapter to plug into the factory bulb location so there wasn't any need for wiring etc. just plug and play. The kit took all of 5 minutes to install and is a ton brighter!!! Ido plan on installing the 4825 kit for the front which has the smoked lenses and theamber leds.here are some pictures for ya.
You can add the kuryakyn run brake turn module for them to constantly be on as a running light then they light up while braking and flash when turning. Kuryakyn sells the Panacea led kit which is pretty much the same but has both amber and red led's so that when turning the lights are amber then back to red for braking and running lights. hope this helps or answers the question.
looks awesome ..... Where did you get the laydown tail light and what was the part #.. I have the mini bullets on mine but i need to do the tail light .. looks real good
Yes they are street legal, the front signals have to be amber and the rears I believe amber or red. the run/turn/brake module is a seperate accessory not sure where it plugs in at or if it's got to be hard wired.
The Taillight is Kuryakyn #4959 low profile smoked led taillight, they come in smokedor red lenses. I added this cuz with the license plate on the sideof the bike the rear fender was nice and smooth but then the stock taillight stuck out so far it ruined the smooth line I was going for plus the new 4959 taillight helped blacken the bike up a bit more.
awesome. I am definitely putting the front and rears on. I would go witht he tail light, but I am eyeing up the tri-bar. I like the look of that one on a ST
Now that's what I'm talking about! That looks great, nice and clean. I think I will do the run/turn/brake controller also. The wife was wondering what I was going to do with the B-day money? Now she knows!!!
Sounds good, Glad you guys like it. the kits are not cheap but they sure are brighter and better looking than stock and gives the bike a smooth clean line in my opinion.
