Swamp A&$ in one hour, Fuel Pak or power commander
So I went for a ride yesterday and got a serious case of swamp a&% in about an hour. I didn't want to do it but I think I will have to cool it down. I am doing no mods. Bone stock all the way, including air filter. All I care about is heat. Which product will more readily cure the problem the V&H Fuel Pak or Power Commander?
RE: Swamp A&$ in one hour, Fuel Pak or power commander
If you're not going to do anything to it, why not let the dealer do a stage 1 download? that should make it run a bit cooler and better too. Also, changing to a good oil will help. amsoil ot mobile 1 works wonders.
RE: Swamp A&$ in one hour, Fuel Pak or power commander
Not sure if I'd agree on the stage 1......the bike will still be running considerably lean, which equals heat. Honestly, I'd consider mods (true duals, a/c kit).....less heat, better running bike, more enjoyable (without being loud if that's a concern). Out of the two options you've given....I know that the PCIII is easy to tweak on after installation.
RE: Swamp A&$ in one hour, Fuel Pak or power commander
I already did the Mobile 1 syn. I don't like the Stage 1 stuff. I have not heard good stuff and don't like having to pay for the uploads. I have a mimum budget I can squeeze by the wife. That is the basis for the options. Unfortunately the wife likes the sound. Also, if I can't get a handle on the heat with a simple process like the PCIII or the V&H FuelPak, I may sell and forget riding. The wife doesn't want me to sell but has already complained and it wasn't even hot outside yet. As far as the air filter, it is my understanding that without a freer flowing exhaust a free flowing air filter is pretty much a waste of time. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Lot's of folks have had nothing but good to say about the Rjsoriginals.com heat deflectors. Just bolt them on and reduce the heat. Should fit your budget, leaves your bike stockand helps with the heat for you and your wife.
