Default HyLites Tune Trapper Hidden Antenna

I was curious if anyone had the "Tune Trapper" hidden antenna installed. And how well the recetion is compared to the stock whip antenna. Also if it the weather bands will still come in on the new 06 stereos.

Mine is an 05 but it works flawlessly so far. No more whip slapping the garage door or anything else.

OK Paul,

Just look at your picture above and imagine it without the antenna. (J/K). I've seen some links that show pictures but you can't tell much from them. It's real simple. Pull your fairing off, plug in the antenna and run the power to a hot wire and place the little antenne wherever it will fit. I've seen some that stick to the back of your outer fairing and I've seen some that you just wire tie to a bracket near your radio.

Hey,
Is that a Sheriff's Star on your primary inspection cover. Do we have another LEO here? I've been Sheriff'n for 24 years now here in Illinois.

They work great, take fairing off, plug into rear of radio and a pos. hot lead, all done. No more antenna to pokein someone eyes on tour pack.

Actually, this one isn't powered. It just plugs into the radio. No "hot" lead. I saw it on ebay for $24. I think I'm gonna try it since I have my faring off right now. I took it off to install some spot lights on my SG. I'll let you know how it works! Thanks!

I just got one also - It works well and I still get weather bands and even though they say it is an FM antenna I still get most AM stations - I loved getting that whip antenna off my bike.

I cut my stock antenna down to about 10 inches. Seems to work great if don't mind having a antenna on the bike. I have also considered getting rid of the antenna all togther.

Ok, for one why the hell would an antenna need to be connected to power unless it's a signal booster or a power antenna, and two, where can I buy the one the last couple of guys are talking about?
