wide glide tank on bob
hey whats up guys just wondering if any one has any info on a wideglide tank on a bob...i tryed searching but i couldnt find anything any help would be great thanks!

how ya going mate, I am doing exactly that at present to my lowrider, happy to pass on any info I can. Like you I tried this question in this forum before without success so I did all the research, sourced all the gear necessary and ready to go. Just pm me or ask in here and I will do my best to help

Got your pm chop, I got a dealer take off tank on Ebay with 0 miles on it, got all the gear I needed from Pikes Peak HD. They got the speedo calibrated at the factory for me, matched the ignition to suit my key, new steering head lock to replace the ignition one, modified the wiring harness for the tank to take my stock set up so it can be returned to stock easily. All I have to do is remove the fuel pump from my old tank to install in the new, pull the old off and install the new, remove the ignition and install the steering lock. I am in Australia and found dealers here unwilling to help, faxed and email over 20 dealers in the States and these guys were the only ones keen to help. They have been great for me and made it possible to be able to do a professional job with all OEM gear. If there is anything else you need just let me know

doing the change over this weekend and I dont really see it as a drama at all, wiring is straight plug and play so its really quite simple.
as long as you read the service manual and take your time it should be managable for most people

Hi Jackyl, tank was a straight bolt on, my lowrider dash was not compatible and I was after ignition on the tank any way. The whole process was pretty easy just a bit of trickery getting the fuel pump in and back. The only thing that didnt work was the 2" tank lift kit as the trees hit the tank. I am wrapped with the new set up, more fuel, no more ignition hassles and the bike looks way better
