Default Windshields On a Street Bob

07 Street Bob with a stock seat I’m 5-10.

I’m more of a comfort first kind of guy the older I get.
So a windshield on most days where I live is a must
when riding without a helmet.

HD Quick-Release Detachable Compact Windshield - Standard-Height

The above seemed to sit so far out away from me due to the
huge quick release mounts it did little good in stopping anything.
The bugs and wind seemed to go right around the windshield?
I sold It.

This one is just as easy on and off however it dose leave the
small hardware on the bike, no big deal for me.
The wind on my ears is reduced considerably so I can hear much better.
The amount of protection it provides depends on where I have it adjusted.
It’s not a 21” full blown shield but it provides just enough protection for
me days that I need one.

Thanks for the post. I'm starting to feel my age and have been thinking of getting the dreaded shield for the long haul rides. I like that memphis.

After a losing battle with luv bugs this season, I bought a national cycle street shield ex.

I didn't mount it exactly the way it is in this photo but it is very effective at keeping me out of the wind, doesn't buffet my head and keeps those durn luv bugs from making permanent dents in my face, lol. A really inexpensive way to go, about $120.

I recommend the memphis slims 17". I think it provides more protection and the buffeting is a little better. I recently swithed from the 19" sportshield. Also the hardware works for the fats, so you can get even more protection for long hauls or cooler weather. Here are some pics

I have the Memphis Shades with quick release. I have a 19" fats clear for the winter, and a 15" slims black. Love them. Great customer service too. Lost my bolts one time and they sent me out a set for free.

I'm at work so can't post pics, but if you'll look in my gallery you can see some pics of the WindVest windshield. I like it a lot, looks great and knocks the bulk of the wind off you. The faster you go the better it seems to work guess the lip at the top makes the difference. I've ridden several fourteen hour days and I'm tired but not beat up by the wind after riding seven hundred fifty miles.

Good Luck

Tom
