For those that might be interested, I just finished the install of Screamin' Eagle slip-on mufflers for my '07 Heritage. Does make a difference in both sound and heat. Here's a pic ...
I also did a webpage detailing the install for those that may be interested. Now that I've done one I could probably do it again in less than an hour. Easy install, even for a non-mechanic type like me.

Louder = 20% ... maybe. There is enough difference that you notice it right away, but not enough difference that it will attract the police real quick. If you want lots louder then you'll have to go with another brand, but they won't be legal. I got these because they were louder (more rumblier is probably a better description) and they were legal.
Part # is80495-07. My local dealer only gives 10% off MSRP for "VIP" customers so I ordered these from Chicago HD. MSRP is $299.95 and Chicago HD is $239.96. It took them about 3 weeks to get them here (special order item), andwith the 20% off and no taxes I saved over what I would have paid locally.
I put about 50 miles on them this afternoon and loved them more after the ride than before. No buyer's remorse here. The larger barrel just looksa LOT better than the stock mufflers. Rode by a bud's house (that's where I took the picture) and he fell in love with them as well. He'll likely order a set for his Fatty.

I have the same pipes on my 07 train. 20% louder is a good estimate. Perfect for me because I am living in a decent neighborhood and I often leave at 0500 in the morning.

Doc I have them on my everyday rider 07 FXST, and with the stage 1 download and stage 1 A/C the bike runs much cooler and much better. Before I wouldn't have bothered with the download but this combination Harley came up with is well worth it.. Cant believe I'm saying this but bike runs perfect, Very consistent.. They got this combination right..
Be patient, most Folks dont give them enough time to burn out some of the packing ..The new slip On's will get a little louder and sound a little better after 1000 or so miles...
Steve you wont be sooory.. I can send you the rush, or the cycle shacks, or the krome werks, if ya want to try them first.. give me a ring.. Skip

Trotter,
You did exactly to your bike what I am considering doing to mine (07 Heritage). Did you have to buy the SERT ignition module also or were you able to do the stage 1 download to the ecm that was in your bike originally?
RE: Installed Screamin' Eagle Slipons for 07 Heritage
I put a pair of them on my '07 FXST and really didn't notice much of a difference until I'd ridden it about 200 miles. It sounds good, although not really all that much louder than stock. The AC and the stage 1 download are next for me, but just out of curiosity are the baffles in these pipes removable? I took out the two screws and nuts on the end of each muffler thinking the baffles would just slide out but they don't. Any thoughts?
