Default Linex

Anybody have their tins Linex'd?

I'm in the process of remodeling my Chop, and decided to have the tank, fenders, battery box, electical box, and air cleaner cover Linex.

I just got back from the Linex shop, and I have to say everything turned out great, far better then I expected.

This is my first experience with Linexing, I've seen it sprayed on as a bedliner, but I never realized just how tough this stuff is!

I'm looking forward to putting the old girl back together...I'll post a few pictures once she's done. I made a new rear fender and my old seat isn't going to work with the new fender, so it'll be a couple weeks before it's 100%, but I'll post a few pictures seatless as soon as I have a chance.

Never heard of it. What kind of finish does it leave, shiny, smooth or rough?

Rough finish, kinda in between flat black and a semi-gloss paint.

Rhino Liner is the other brand name bedliner (Linex's competition).....they are very similiar.

Sounds interesting, my chopper is powdercoated, tank, frame and fenders. 12 yrs old and held up well. The Linex seems like something Russel at Exile would like. Looking forwar to pics.

This my baby after I tore her down for the 'rebuild'. The old rear fender is laying on the floor in the picture, the new one is in place to get an idea of what I'm working with. I can't post a before on this post for some reason. So I'll eat a bit more bandwidth and post a before in another post along with a couple of the parts after Linexing. The Linexed pictures are taken with a chessy webcam so they aren't real clear. I'll take better picts once she is all put back together.

I had my oil tank Linexed as it sets under the trans close to the road. Works real well and no need to worry about rock chips. I also had tubes done to see how it will work on a frame.

Default RE: Linex....NEW PIC's

Well I put the old girl back together this past weekend, still a bit to do...waiting on a bigger set of seat springs, she needs a good scrubbing, but I thought I'd post a couple pictures...

The pictures are a bit dark, will snap a few in the daylight when my seat springs come in and I have a chance to clean her up.

One thing about Linex/Rhino Lining it's thick! That needs to be taken into account when 'mocking' things up. I thought I had done a pretty good job taking that into account, but in the end I had to grind a good bit off my battery box and had to drill out a few of the non-threaded holes. The threaded holes I placed bolts into to keep the threads clean.

I will say that the Linex is TOUGH! I've used a hammer on it, dropped parts I would say that finish wise this version of the old girl is close to being literally bullet proof....ILMAO!!
