Default boards on a dyna

I have an 07 fxdl and the GF wants boards on the bike and I wouldn't mind putting on drivers boards as well.

I have researched this quite a bit and have a few remaining questions.

1. Has anyone tried both the Harley passenger boards as well aftermarket types that use the existing peg mount. I'd like to know if one performed better than the other (mainly vibration issues).

2. I am considering ordering the parts from the old fxdp floorboard kit which is no longer available part# 50601-01. My question about these parts is will they bolt right up to the 07 frame?

CS,

I have the 50601-01 kit that I will be installing on my 07 SB. I did a quick test fit. The brackets to mount the boards bolt right up. that includes the mount for the brake pedal. Shifter side board brackets bolt rightup as well.

The heel/toe shifter bracket is a different story. that bracket mounted to two bolts on the oldermotors that are not in the same locations on the new motors. i am either going to fabricate an alternate mount for the heel toe shifter or find an extended length shifter and use the mid mount spline as is.

I am 5'7 and they are a good fit for me. For those much taller, they may be a bit cramped.

I have FB's from a FXDXT that I used to own.
When I tried to install the FB's on my 07 Street Bob I discovered 3
the bosses required to support the shifter on the outer primary
were missing.

I have thought about just making a longer toe shifter.

The FB's from the FXDXP kit are awesome on a Dyna. The wrinkle is
creating a bracket forthe shifter support or making a longer shifter.

That's what I was afraid of. I would think that if you've got to engineer adaptors it would be cheaper just to get an aftermarket floorboard kit and make the adaptions necessary to fit the dyna. I saw some on ebay for 220-350 that included everything. Problem is they are being offered by a company often complained about on this board.

Why not just get a wide set of pegs with heal stirrups? I have some on my bike and they are great. I get teh comfort of having FB's and I did not have to make a bracket. Kuryakin makes a nice bolt on floor board for HD.

JP Cycles mini-boards. Mounts where the original foor pegs mount. (Clevis type)

Haven't moved since mounting them, and solved MY problem for about $54 for the pair. Rubber insert, chromed and well made.

They're mounted to Kuryachyn forward controls. Not the best pic, but you get the idea.

The ol'lady asked for 3 things when I got the bike. A different seat, bags, and passanger boards. I could not find any aftermarket passanger boards that I liked, so Icalled the dealer and asked for a price. $272.95... I told the wife for that price I'd leave her *** home. She told me I'd find a 'for sale' sign on the bike. If you look in my photo album, you'll see a picture ofall 3 thingsinstalled...
