Default mixing tires question
i have a new Dunlop HD D401 150/80B16 on the rear and need to replace the front soon.
i found a new Avon Venom-X 100/90-19 57H at the Harley salvage and traded some take off parts for it. but now I'm wondering if it's OK to mix the different tread designs or if it will make the bike handle differently.
if there is someone out there more "tire wise" than i could you let me know if i can run the Avon with the Dunlop?

Yes you can mix them. No problem. You may notice a difference, but it won't hurt anything.

Right, wrong, good or bad, I'm not sure.
But I've done it for the last 27 or 28 years without any major hitches or problems that I've noticed.

ran a stock rear with a metz 880 front for the last 3K miles - no problems
