Silver lining...new member of the 103" club!
Since the engine is already torn down and the labor to put it all back together (including all the expendables like gaskets and what not) are being covered by the warranty replacement of my crank, fly, and bearings...yep, you guessed it...time for the 103 upgrade. I'm only having to buy the other parts (cylinders, pistons, cams, etc) which come to a whopping $700 and some change, plus tax.
While I was there I had a chance to ride a 103 and that's what sinched my decision. I was planning on an upgrade later, so I just couldn't justify NOT doing while the bulk of the expense was going to be covered by the Moco's dime. Sure it's not a 110 or 120, but for the price...I'm happy with the decision.
Bike should be back together by next Tuesday or Wednesday (may not be able to get some of the parts needed for the warranty work over nighted by tomorrow). Weather looks like crap here in NTX this weekend anyway, but so far the extended forecast for next weekend is sunny and 68*, so might get some nice saddle time in with the new build.
Congrats! I think??? 7+ bills?? Ouch! But 103" Very cool!
I'm not a wrench so wouldn't be saving any money by trying to do it myself. =)
