It takes a long time to load the page every time I go to a differant page within HD forums on my home computer. My work coputer loads fine. Does anybody know whats causing this?
You've already answered yourself. It has to be a setting on your home computer. Are you running Internet Explorer or Firefox at home. I switched to Firefox a few months ago and it is so much faster now. I have high speed cable at home and DSL at work. I run firefox on both and have had no problems.
I do run internet explorer at home and firefox at work,,But my computer at home is a better one and my internet connection at home is much faster. The only place I am having this problem is on HD forums so I would think it is not my computer. Dont you agree? Also I faintly remember when I first started coming to this site there was a post from HDF about this very problem. I think it was this site anyway!!
I don't know what to tell you. If you use Firefox at work and the forum loads fine and you use IE at home and it doesn't??????? I have a brand new Dell Inspiron and I downloaded Firefox as soon as I was up and running. I have Firefox on my Gateway Laptop too. I don't have any trouble with either of them. I don't know what else to tell you.
I had the same problem. Firefox withm dare I say it, Ad blocker really speeds things up. My PC was waiting for ads to load all the time and it was just about unuseable.
It is really, really frustrating at times.. especially tonite..I own a lot of websites myself and I know this one is a cash cow for its owners. If it is because the forum has once again outgrown the server it is on then maybe it's time toupgrade again.

It's not a server problem. The forum has not gone down or crashed in a long time (like it used to with the old servers). Some people have no problems with the forum at all. You can see that the author of this thread fixed his own problem by downloading firefox.

It seems to be working better now.. I think there may be peak times when the load on the server slows it down but I am no expert by any means.. I am at work right now running IE and about an hour ago I couldnt get anything to load at all. At home on firefox, sometimes the same. No biggie, just needed to vent a little..
