Different Types Of Spark Plugs
I would stick to the stock plugs recommended for your motor or you will defeat the purpose of the ION sensing in the ignition system that detects and deals with engine knock. It uses the principle of resistance in the secondary ignition circuit and varying that resistance can knock the system out. The only benefit with plugs like platinum plugs is that they last longer. Different plugs would make literally no difference in the running of the engine. The basic principle here is to light off the mixture and unless you had worn plugs in there with excessive gap, there would be little if any difference in a switch to a different plug. One exception here is a different heat range of the same plug which would not cause a problem.
Very high performance engines running higher than normal compression ratios is the other exception here.
