Default My Garage Door Opener Install..

Well with the idea from others I've read on the forum I installed my garage door opener today. Just soldered two wires to the garage door opener, then velcroed it to the top of the radio. Then installed a momentary switch (part #275-1566a) that I got from Radio Shack. Works perfect.....

Sounds like a good Idea except for having to remove the fairing each time your batteries go dead....

I like the location you picked for the switch. I got all the stuff for mine except for time.

I don't think the batteries go dead all that often. However, I think I would have sprung for a water-proof switch.

If it's a 12 volt opener you can wire it to the bike's power & forget changin' the battery. I used the same battery source my GPS runs off of.............

Battery goes dead about every two years and fairing comes off in about five minutes, so no big deal there.

I had this switch on my boat that I used for a horn. The SG won't see a 100th of the water that my boat switch did and it never failed.
