I have a 2005 Road King Classic with stock handlebars. I am 6'2". I would like the handlebars to be taller and come back a little farther. Any suggestions?

Stock WideGlide bars will fit using all the stock cables, wiring, and brakelines.

When compared to the RK (or RG) bars, they have much higher rise and far more comfortable angles.

Do you have a part #? or What is a WideGlide? Is it an ElectraGlide?

A wide glide is in the Dyna family. In addition, look at the Heritage or Road King tall bars. Both will fit without changing any lines or cables.

Manish,

You have many choices when it comes to handlebars. The question is, are you prepared to replace all the cables and brake line if you do go with taller bars? I would suggest you try the tall Road King (or Road Glide) bars or, the Road King Custom bars! These bars can still use the stock cables and brake line. The tall RK bars are about 4.5 inches taller and would give you a more pull-back feel. The RK custom ones will not give you more height, but will give you more pull back. Let us know which ones you end up with.

A good place to look is Ebay. You should be able to find used bars there. But, having them replaced is another story. That could be pricey. Good luck!

These work with stock cables, wiring, and brake lines. THey are MUCH more comfortable than other flavor RK bars or Heritage bars.... To me, at least.

This project isn't going to take place until Nov/ Dec. I will be tearing my bike down completely. Every single part that can be chromed will be chromed at a local chrome shop here in town. While I'm at it I will change the handlebars and add stainless steel brake and clutch lines. I know my dealership has a set up and I can try different bars, but I wanted to have some suggestions first.

What you're asking for is a pretty good description of the Road King High bars. I put a set on at Christmas, big improvement over the stock bars. No change in any of the control cables or wiring and I ran the wiring inside the bars. These follow the same general shape of the standard RK bars but they are a little taller and come back to you a little.

If you look in the 2006 parts and accessories catalog at the front of the Touring section, there are several bikes that have been accessorized. One of the Road Kings has the High bars on it. Price is good on them, about $50 and they're chrome compared to the stock bars which are stainless steel.

I know my dealership has a set up and I can try different bars, but I wanted to have some suggestions first.
Keep in mind that a different seat will make a difference in how the bars feel.
