Yesterday, I told my dealer to order my wife a new 2009 Heritage Classic. \\; I asked that it not come in until March of 2009. \\; That may sound crazy to some of you but that is when she and my billfold will be ready. \\; She has an 2007 Sportster 1200low that she has had for a little over a year. \\; She has done pretty well on it and will be a better rider by then. \\; She and I have been told that a lowered Heritage Classic will handel easier than her 1200 Low. \\; Tha sounds strange to me but maybe so. \\; Any input you can provide about lowering it will be appreciated. \\; She is 5'2" 150Lb cute and smart.( She watching me write this). \\; Thanks in advance.
A stock Heritage scrapes the boards easily. \\;\\\\\\; I can't imagine a lowered one.
I'm not anti Heritage, I had one. \\;\\\\\\; But they don't handle worth a crap compared to a touring frame.
Ride one and go into a turn a little too hot. \\;\\\\\\; You'll find out.
Got 4800 miles on my Heritage, haven't scraped the boards yet. \\; When my wife decided she wanted a bike I was hoping she could take my Heritage and I could get a RK or Ultra. \\; Unfortunately the Heritage was a bit "heavy" for her. Deluxe was a better fit. \\;
Just noticed your lady is only 5'2". \\; Can't imagine her on a Heritage, even a lowered one. Even after 10 months on mine there are times when I have to manhandle her and it's not fun. \\; Hats off to your girl if she's ready for it.
i own a heritage... dont listen to anyone that says anything about this bike being anything other than outstanding
my woman even got on. shes 5 3 and weighs 120... she handles it fine
i have never scraped any floorboards and you wont unless you are one to pull hard corners at 50mph to the point of damn near falling off
my woman doesnt need hers lowered (shes flat footed on it) though sometimes she thinks about lowering the rear a little to get a little more bend in the knee... rear lowering was quoted at 2 hours labor and a $80 part
the heritage rocks. a great around town bike that can more than handle long road trips. very multi purpose
