just wondering if anyone has tried those reworked stock mufflers for sale by the guy from tennesee, he claims 15% hp gain, great sound and no remap or rejet with his mufflers. see it here; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT I am running Hooker slip ons, and they are great but toooooooo loud! thanks
I actually have a pair that I am about to list on Ebay.
I have the HP1, they sound great, nice and deep rumble and did give a nice increase in power.
I put about 50 miles on them but My wife did not like the sound so off they went and we ended up with Supertrapp SE's, these were alittle quiter than the Smooth Bore which was what she wanted in the first place.
How would you compare the Supertrapp SE's to the stock pipes? I would like just a slight increase in the sound over stock. Do they have a nice rumble? Any/much performance gain with the Supertrapp's?
Supertrapps are not much louder than the stock pipes, they claim 3db and I will have to agree, I cant really hear that much of a difference. I did get alittle performace gain over the stock ones, seems to be alittle more torque and maybe a few more ponies.
The Smooth Bore Slip ones had a better sound, Deeper Rumble and also had a nice increase in torque and ponies.
I would have stayed with those, but when Wifey rides on the back alot, and she didnt like that deep sound, it is all about keeping her happy so the money stays free more more mods
i'am running HP-2's and I love them!!!!!!!!!!! I won them on ebay for $107.00 plus shipping, you cant beat it. There on my RG and I can hear the radio just fine, can feel it in the seat of the pants too. I was all set to spend $400.00 on Rindhart slip-ons. I'am glad I tryed these first.[sm=biker2.gif][sm=bounceybounce.gif]
I agree with you, I loved them !
I just wanted to make the wife happy.
One of the guys I ride with Has the HP2, I could hear that much difference in the HP1 and 2, but either way they are up for sale.
Cheap way to get some Harley SOund and performance back into your Bagger.
How long does it take to get a set? Based on the web site, it could be 6 weeks!!!
For those that have bought before:
1. How is the quality?
2. How long did it take to receive?
3. How does the sound compare to SE or V&H?
I am looking for that deep throaty Harley sound and more sound when throttle applied. However don't want to set off all the car alarms and wake up neighbors for those early am rides.
I've got a set of B&E Performance 2" Superflow slip-ons on my '04 RKC. I was up at Seacoast H-D in NH for an open house a couple of months ago. The State Police had a courtesy sound check set up. My bike registered 96 db at 2800 rpm. That's bone stock with just the Superflow mufflers. The leagal limit inNH is 106 db. Two of my friends have bought them for their '03 RK and '05 Ultra after hearing mine. They are both very happy with them. The new 2" Superflows that my friends bought have a different packing than the ones I have, ceramic instead of fiberglass. They seem to be a little bit quieter than mine. They do sound good though. Can't beat them for the price.
ILSRWY6,
He does take a while to ship, and he will not honor the buy back policy he states on Ebay, but they are nice pipes.
They are actually Takes Offs from Harleys so the quality is the same there, as far as his workmanship I say it is first rate, after they rework the baffles and get the sound they want, the coat the entire inside with high Temp Ceramic and bake it in.
I really like them, these ran at about 95db of deep throaty sound/rumble.
As I mentioned I have a set I will overnight out to you for $110 if anyone is intersted.
Paypal is accepted
If the deep throaty rumble is what you are after with some clear torque and HP gains, than you cant beat the price.
