I'm sure I'm not the first to do it anyway, (although I may be)
Riser off of a wrecked 06 sportster custom. Took more than just a little modification. The throttle cables and brake line still need to be replaced, haven't gotten to that yet. The indicator lamps were a pain in the ***. Quite a bit of modification involving razor blades, super glue, epoxy, and many, many cursewords. Indicators came out looking professional though, so it was worth it.
Handle bars are exactly where they need to be. They were too low/too far away before. Now sitting back in a comfortable position on the forward controls gives me just the right amount of bend at the elbows.
Got that damned speedo out of my face as well. That thing was bugging me right up there in the wind.
I don't like looking down at the tank mounted speedo and especially the indicator lights while moving. I would like to add a second set of indicator lights above the handle bar clamp. I have the part numbers from a 2006 and just need make a bracket or housing. I would leave the existing lights and just wire them in parallel. Now if I can get a small bargraph tach, I would be set.
I've been around internet forums for over 10 years, I've run a couple, I'm admin at one now, and I've never seen one as screwed up as this one when trying to post pictures.
Sheesh.
Nice site though, the picture upload just sucks crapola.
