Is there something I need to do replace or clean?? I ride 100 miles a day.. I did just hit a wheelbarrel on the freeway a couple weeks back - Thay was a fast stop.. maybe that caused it??
To replace the valve (Little rubber flapper), you have to open up the rockerbox'....
Replacing them is a moot point if you run your motor at 75 -85 mph for lengthy periods, as the oil will build up and just hang there.....
Check the hose that routes the breathers, and you will see that the hose exits BELOW the carb opening... Not smart engineering.... It should be routed into the carb throat, to use the spent oil and blowby in the combustion process.....
I think I have heard someone say that if you over fill your oil tank this can happen. A lot of people do not do an oil change properly. The bike has to be hot before draining like a 10 mile after draining the oil and before installing the new filter I like to poor oil in the new filter before installing it. I fill my deluxe oil tank to the weld mark on the filler neck of the oil tank that is a starting point. Now take it for a ride get it hot again and check add if needed. If you overfill it its not a good thing to do I would rather run a little low than over check the oil level when hot and see if its over.
Thanks -- I did forget to add that I changed the oi; last week D'OH
Maybe that could be part of it.. I keep the oil just below the weld and check it daily (never needed to add any)- never had the issue before - but that could be it too.
I will keep an eye on it -- no more oil since I cleaned it. I did ride at 80 last week - maybe that helped contrube to my oil in the air filter,,
