Quick question for those that know.

If I wanted to replace the clutch plates in my 1990 EVO, the manual states I need the Harley special clutch compression tool. Is there an alternative or do I need to get this particular tool?

You would be wise to get the tool. Easier unless somebody has a different way. But the first thing I do is ask all my friends if they know anyone who has one I can borrow. You would be surprised how many guys will have a specialty tool sitting in their toolbox that they only used once. You will never ever know unless you ask. Between all my friends we probably have 95% of the HD specialty tools. A cold12 pack is usually the "rental fee". My MAC rocker box wrench has netted several 12 packs.
