Riding yesterday afternoon.... tach/ speedometer needles go to zero at 70 mph on highway, with check engine light and security system key lit up, but bike isn't missinga beat. Pulled over, shutdownand checked the basics, all okay. Started it back up, everything's fine (at least from what I can see and hear), bike runs and sounds good with all instruments back to normal and nothing lit up.

It's an 07 FLHTC with Fatcat's, ANBS and T-MAX. I used my laptoptodayto see if there were any indications of problems with the T-Max and nothing showed as an issue. Plan on getting that electrical manual now,(!) but does anybody recall something similar happening? Maybe some thing simple, but not sure. I searched some of the early posts and the diagnostic tips, that the best way tofind outto what happended? Would appreciate a nudge in the right direction.

Just an FYI for those that might have seen the post- spoke to Randy at Zipper's and was told that the 4.5 version of TMAX had a minor glitch that affected only a couple of users, of which I was evidently one. Pete sent me the 4.6 version, with the caveat the glitch wasn't a big issue. Downloaded it last night and installed, damn good customer service in both phone call and e-mails. Just a bad feeling when that kind of stuff happens, got a trip in June across the desert to CA/ Vegas and sure as hell didn't want that happening in the middle of bum**** Egypt!

I had the exact same thing happen on my 2007 softail. I dont have a TMAX or any other tuner installed. My bike was at the dealer for three days (its still under warranty)and they found nothing. I have probably riden 6 or 700 miles since and it hasnt happend again.

FYI...I lost speedo and tach a few times with 4.5, no big deal, just power down and back up and all is well. I updated my firmware a few weeks ago to 4.6 and went on a roadtrip. STILL lost speedo and tach one time on the trip. 4.6 didn't fix it for me.
