Just noticed today that my speedo & tach needles flicker downward and make a fluttering noise for a split second only when turning on the ignition. Anyone else have this problem, assuming it is a problem?
I don't know what your problems are but my 06 EG Ultra had a wierd problem with the speedo. Altough the mileage and lights were OK the odometer started displaying partial numbers, flashing bright and dim and the engine management and security lights flashed. This would happen intermittently and then work OK. After working OK, the engine management light and security light would come on for a few seconds after the engine started and then go out. Everything else ran OK. Took it to the dealer several times but they couldn't duplicate the problem nor get a diagnostic code. After the 4th time an error code finally was displayed. They replaced the speedometer and all has been well for over 2K so far.
I've had other wierd problems that have came up. Two weeks after I got the bike the kickstand continued all the way forward causing the bike to go down. After the speedo I had the radio replaced for no display. Took another 3 weeks for a rebuild to come in.
I also think I have a problem with the injectors/electrical system. If it were carburetored I'd swear it had the farts when cold. It starts up fine but at the first intersection or two it wants to die taking off. I've also had it try to die going down the road. Usually rocking the kill switch gets it going again.
Of course I attribute it all to being the devil bike. The last 3 of the VIN are 666. Aren't I lucky!
