The Best Motorcycle Helmets of 2018 (Video)

Looking for a new way to protect your head? The riders behind Revzilla name their top four favorite new helmets.

Here at H-D Forums, we take motorcycle safety very seriously. The single most important accessory you can purchase for your motorcycle is a quality helmet. We recommend one that covers your entire face and is battle-tested — both by the manufacturer and by independent agencies —to protect your noggin when disaster strikes.

The market for motorcycle helmets is full of options, and that’s a good thing. However, the sheer variety of choices can be daunting for a novice helmet shopper. Thankfully, Revzilla, an online retailer that proudly proclaims it was founded by fellow riders, has produced an excellent video to show off their favorite helmet choices for 2018. Anthony is a great host and presents the information clearly and concisely.

They selected four of their favorite new helmets for this riding season. First up is the “Best New Helmet Under $200.” The Scorpion EXO-R420 has an intermediate oval shape that is going to do a great job of fitting a wide variety of heads. Revizilla says it’s “a little bit longer front to back, not overly narrow, not overly wide.” A tight-fitting (but not too tight) helmet is a key component of helmet safety, so a snug, comfortable bit with comprehensive coverage is key. It’s a feature not often found in helmets in this price range.
