Creating the Ultimate Harley-Davidson Man Cave

‘Club Harley’: Check out Wisconsin H-D enthusiast’s dream party spot.

Thinking of converting your basement into a Harley-Davidson man cave? Scott and Missy Woldt of Wisconsin recently did that and couldn’t be happier! Since 1979, Open Road Harley-Davidson customer Scott had been dreaming about having a Harley-themed man cave. So when the time came to finish the basement-level of his home, he was ready!

After four months, do-it-yourself Scott had turned his home’s lower level into an awesome 1,200 square foot retreat complete with bar, pool table, home theater and gym. You can see all things Harley around the room, including a corrugated metal bar with H-D stools and H-D lighting. On the wall hangs a banner from Screamin’ Eagle Performance, the parts company who can upgrade your Harley with either “a street-legal Stage Kit for more passing power, or a big-bore monster motor that’ll melt the asphalt right off the track.”

To make your own man cave more Harley-tastic, check out the online store for barware, signs, and collectibles. “I think I have one of everything available for home decor and barware,” says Scott about shopping with the crew at Open Road Harley-Davidson.

‘There is enough space to add more things Harley — and this will make for great future gifts for me, too!’

To make your home’s basement worthy of a man cave, Total Basement Refinishing has a few suggestions. First, if your lower level is subject to flooding, be sure to install a perimeter drain and sump pump. If you live in a colder region, you’ll want to insulate the exterior walls and install a heating system. A dehumidifier will eliminate any mustiness, and a bathroom will save trips back upstairs. Interlocking vinyl tile or a plank floor provide a thermal break between your feet and the concrete, plus they’re more comfortable than a concrete slab. Lastly, you’ll want to do some soundproofing so that when you and your buddies let loose, you don’t wake the baby.

Scott recently told Open Road that his man cave still has plenty of room for more collectibles. “There is enough space to add more things Harley — and this will make for great future gifts for me, too!” Hint, hint, Missy.
