Spotlight on Lady Riders: Roberta (Bert)

This weeks Lady Riders spotlight falls on Roberta (Bert) from the Old Glory HOG chapter in MD. Working her way into riding and eventually a Trike that suits her the best. The great thing is after having some issues riding on two wheels she still loved motorcycles enough to move to a three wheeled version and keep her knees in the wind!

I have been riding since May 26, 2007

My friends had Harley’s and I would follow them around in my car and then when I got my first ride on the back of a Harley, I thought this is fun, so I decided to get my license and ride one myself.

What keeps me riding is the love of the open air, the sun on my face and back, hanging out with my other Chapter friends and making new ones.

I would not change anything, I love the Chapter that I belong to, the people in it, the rides that we go on, meeting new friends, and just being in control of my own bike.

Now about my bike

Model :   Street Glide FLXXX

Year:        2010

Modifications:  Added a lot of chrome to it, a sissy bar, some bling to it, and my favorite is my digital gages, oh yeah and a rose on the front fender.

Why did I choose it: I chose my Street Glide Trike because it is a bike that I can handle, it makes me feel secure and I think that is important when riding. I did try a two wheeler and I dropped it too many times, thank god it was while I was stopped and just figured that a Trike would work better for me.  So this is why a chose it.

What would I change if I were doing it again:   I would have purchased a Trike earlier instead of wasting my time on riding a two wheeler.   But I am riding it now and nothing could be better.
