I scored good on ebay. A 2 5/8 tach, complete kit off an 06 FXD 35 for a hundred bucks. Had to get a different mounting bracket and adjust it with a Harley hammer to get enough clearance from my windshield. Finally got it all installed and it fits good, just gotta do some research on how to hook it up. Too pretty a day to work on it anymore today.

Nice job Tom, looks good. I really like the functional pieces.
Guess I didn't really need one, just wanted one. Grew up in the sixties and still love rowing thru the gears, flat out,and trying to get all the time and speed I can in the quarter. Like to experiment to see at precisely what rpm to shift to put meback into the optimum torque range. It's just a fun thing.
Your going to have to take apart big connector on ECM and get a pin to go into the #3 hole, Stock wire is not there.
Looking at the wiring diagrams,it looks like you should be able to get a tach signal off the LT. GRN/VIOLET wire from the speedo but that didn't work. Then I ran a wire with pin into the # 3 hole in the ecm connector. Still no response guess I got a bad tach. Don't know what else to check.
