Why would you be screwed? I dont understand. Unless your in CA? Your loc says Texas.
Because it's not "50" state compliant. My dealer won't sell anything that's not 50 state compliant to me, and warn me that installing them myself would cause my warranty to be in jeapordy. I spoke to a dealer 60 miles from me that said they were crazy. I see lots of guys on here not having these issues. I bought the extended warranty so I'd hate for that to go to waste.

that's nuts. I point blank asked my dealer about this. He said as long as it wasn't the tune that caused the problem, then the is no problem. He said no one keeps them stock, and they would loose almost all of their customers if they started rejecting warrenties because of aftermarket parts.

Good to hear! I got Stage 1 on a bike 3 months old and 200mi. V&H.

Seeing more sensitivity about warrantees lately. I (try to) ride 1,000 miles before doing any major upgrades. I go to the dealer for the 1k service (oil change) then try to stay away. The aftermarket has better performance parts and is easier to deal with.

I agree. the independent shops are also more easier to deal with ."from my experience".

Any reason you went with the screamin eagle tuner?
As others have said, this gave me less warranty risk. My main reason for the stage 1 was appearance, I like the looks of 2 into 1 much better. I don't need loud at this stage in my life, so the jury out until I install the baffle. Any performance gain would probably not be detected by my seat dyno.
