Windshield Bolts

Does anyone know where to get windshield bolts that are slightly longer?

I added the triple bags and the thickness on opens the gap a bit. I've made a small camera bracket that I plan on bolting between the windshield and the bags. It's a piece of flat iron that will hold a mounting bar for the camera. I'm concerned the extra thickness will keep the stock bolt from threading properly.

Any thoughts on options?

I think the windshield bags came with a longer center bolt. Maybe the bolt can be ordered as a replacement part?

Go to Fastenal, take your existing bolt with you, tell them you want one... 1/4 inch longer, or whatever you need, they can hook you up.

Go to an ACE hardware and get the stainless or chrome buttonhead Look better and you can get the length you want or need. I believe they are 1/4 20 bolts.

I did what santajim said, take a bolt with you to the local hardware store they have thread inserts to screw the bolt into so you know your getting the right size thread then just get the length you want.

No waiting to order and more economical.
