Ok weird thing happen today. My iPod stopped playing, I could still control it but no sound at all. So I started to trouble shoot first thing I did was tired a different cable no difference. Next I listen to the iPod with ear buds worked fine. Still did not work on the bike (FLHTK 6.5 1.19.2 software). Next I tried a system reset still did not work. One other thing my phone bluetooth would play Iheart no problem. Next I reload 1.19.2 still not working. SO got an old iPhone that I had with music on it and it worked fine. So I did a factory reset on iPod. That fixed it has anyone else had a problem like this? I have used the iPod since day one of the bike 18 months and it has worked just fine. This is very weird!
I use a 160 gig i-pod classic on my 2015 RGS and have had that happen a few times. Try re-booting your i-pod. Press the top and the center of the i-pods controller. The apple should appear on your I-pod letting you know that it is doing a full re-boot. If it's not that I would try a different cord.

This happens on the ipod classic. It's a disc drive not a flash like the others. That's why you get a warning when you start bike. Mine eventually broke due to the vibrations. Nothing to do with the lead or the bike.

iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle are just like your normal flash drives most are used too, with no moving parts.
But as oakspeed mentions, the iPod Classic uses a traditional "spinning disk" like most computers.
These are not very "bump" or "vibration" friendly at all.
Yes people use them, and have no issues.
But they will eventually fail in that type of environment.
