Default OEM heat grip question

Going to install the basic black heated grips on '15 ultra classic and every video I have seen show the powered connection already in the fairing, the instructions say I need P/N 69200722. So is this kit need or not?

Shouldn’t need it, the power connector (2 wires) will be inside the fairing on the clutch side of center, coming off the back of the lighter/power port and the inter-connect connector (the 2 wires that connect the throttle side grip to the clutch side grip) will be on the throttle side of center, just inside the fairing. Look for it in the area where the wires from the right switchpack comes thru the fairing.

I’ve got the only Rushmore fairing bike that requires that extra harness/adapter kit, I think, which is a RGU
