Default Adding TPMS to Rushmore Bikes

I ride a ’15 Ultra Limited with a Boom GTS infotainment system and I have read posts on this forum that Harley tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS) can be added and tire pressure can be observed thru the GTS system. I have acquired the parts referenced below and followed the steps outlined in other posts on this forum. Which are very hard to find.

I can report that I have made some progress with this project. While my Harley dealer does not want anything to do with it, I have found an Indy shop that is willing to try.

Starting off on a positive note, the Harley TPMS sensors PN#42300124 fit my stock rims with just the beveled seal from FOBO. It is unfortunate that I had to but two complete FOBO t-valves, but oh well

I have acquired a BCM with part number 41000341a from a 2017 Harley model and provided it to the Indy shop. They have installed it on the bike and connected it to their TechnoResearch diagnostic tool attempting to marrying the BCM to my bike. So far they have not been successful. Is this something that needs to be done by the Harley dealer using their proprietary diagnostic tool?

The only thing I don’t have yet are new FOBs.

Any comments or suggestions as to where to go from here?

Thanks in advance.

2 things... well three. First, I am just starting the process so I am going off what a local dealer is telling me and what I've read/learned in the other thread you posted in. This was going to be a winter project, but... no patience and got my new wheels in from ***** Shiny... so I'm starting there with the sensors installed so I can get the wheels on, then I'll do the electronic portion a couple weeks later.

Second, the BCM you "acquired" is it new or used?
Reason I ask is TechnoResearch's software has very specific module replacement instructions for the BCM, and Step 7 of that process mentions "If you do not receive zero’s in all the boxes, like shown below then your BCM is NOT new." But it doesn't go on to say what to do if you find yourself in that situation, or if you MUST have a new/unused BCM.
Here's a link to that page, if it works.
http://technoresearch.info/Jobs/Replacing-a-BCM.html

Lastly, I have TechnoResearch's Centurion Super ProPlus, and I am very new to it... but I do not think it will be capable of enabling TPMS in you radio, so that you get the TPMS tab. BUT I could be wrong about that. With their software I can see where you enable TPMS in the BCM and Gauge Cluster, and assign the tire sensors... but no where is there anything about enabling TPMS in the radio. Calling TechnoResearch yielded no clear answer (yes or no) as to if their software could do that. I know in Diag4Bike and DigiTech its under "Radio Customizations". With TechnoResearch's software it may be part of one the other processes (enabling TPMS in the BCM or Gauge Cluster). Soooooo, if your indy is able to do that with TechnoResearch, let us know.

The BCM I acquired is used and my indy shop has concluded it can't be done. So for now I have new tires and expensive 90 degree valve stems and i'm okay with that as I am about to do a trip to Bear Tooth Pass, Yellowstone and the Black Hills/Sturgis.
Once I return I'll see if my dealer will consider the BCM reprogramming/marrying to my bike. If not I'll find another indy shop with the right equipment.
Thank you for your reply and good luck with your project.

A new BCM, 41000341F I think is a little less than $200. Which if your bike's BCM went bad today, that would be the replacement BCM they'd put in it... which is the same BCM thats in a 2020 CVO Limited and other touring models.

You might want to find out if a used BCM can be "re-programmed" to another bike. I do not know the answer to that.

Finished my project today, and everything went great...
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/milwa...1-tpms-17.html

While the guy was programming the BCM, I asked him if the BCM I took out of my bike could be put in another bike, or was it "married" to my bike. He said it should be able to be used in another bike, if somebody wanted to. He said if he was doing it using DigitTech, he'd just do "replace module" and it should work... so if you got a good used BCM, it should work. I used a new one, HD#41000341F, and all is well that route.

Well, I'm back from my Bear Tooth Pass, Yellowstone and the Black Hills/Sturgis ride and I am finally getting around to working on this project again and can report success. I can now see the tire pressure of my tires on my '15 Limited (FLHTK) with GTS Boom.
In the end it was quite simple, I acquired a used BCM #41000341A (I believe from a 2017 model), the latest generation of TPMS #
42300124A and new FOBs, along with the right diagnostic software and a interested technician. Thanks to Rob at Detroit Choppers in Roseville, MI for seeing this thru. He used his TechnoResearch to marry the BCM to my bike and to make the necessary adjustments. TechnoResearch by the way is in Royal Oak, MI, just south of where I live. They helped me find Detroit Choppers.
I paid $150 for the use BCM and if I had to do this again, I would choose to buy a new BCM which at this time is #41000341F. I didn't save any money by buying a used BCM. So now I don't have to get down on the ground to check my tire pressure.
Thanks to
everyone here that guided me thru the process. Much appreciated.

Good for you, glad you got it done.
Just curious, why did you replace the FOBs? Once you get the BCM swapped out, you could have link it up with the original ones, I did.
Just for reference in case anyone reads this in the future, the guy that did my BCM swap (HD mechanic) told me I could use 1 or 2 of the "new" style or 1 or 2 of the "old" style FOBs, I just can't mix them (1 old & 1 new), so I used my original ones.
Also, after the BCM swap (required on 2014-2016 Non CVOs) be sure to get your PIN entered back in... the bike's security won't arm without a PIN entered, and it will start without the FOBS... ask me how I know... lol
Congrats!

The reason you did not have replace FOBs is that Harley updated FOBs for 2016 and later models. So for '14 and '15 bikes, BCM and FOBs must be replaced.
When the technician swapped the BCM he was able to read the PIN from the used BCM and replace with my desired PIN. So thank you.
