Hey guys, finally taking the plunge and will be getting a new 14 FLHXS. Trying to decide which color to go with, Amber Whiskey is the color that first drew me looking into the new bikes here on the forums. Once I saw Blackened Cayenne also looks great, makes the paint look a mile deep. I've shown pics of both colors to friends, family, and coworkers and most like the blackened cayenne. I love the Amber Whiskey, its different and overall an awesome color, my question for those that bought the bike after owning it do you still the same way about the color as you did when you bought it? I also am I big fan of the Mysterious Red, but the dealer doesnt have any in stock right now, as if I need another color choice to confuse me. So If you guys were picking a new SGS out which of these colors would you choose and why? Thanks for the help hopefully I can make a decision sometime this decade.
Also contemplating slip ons or full exhaust? Dealer recommened a set of Rush slip-ons. Thinking I will want a full exhaust and to get rid of the cat eventually so I might as well get it done how I want it when I pick it up.
Amber whiskey, I just bought a denim black and was really liking the charcoal pearl but my wife was really digging the denim black and now that I have it I really like it as well. I think the blackened cayenne is awesome except the red pinstripe on it doesn't appeal to me. To each his own, regardless of color it's an awesome bike!
pswomack, great looking bike. Is Amber Whiskey considered a Sunglo? Ive looked at countless pictures online and videos of the bikes outside and it looks great but I've only seem them in person on two dealers floors.
dgreen, that blue on your cvo must really pop on a nice sunny day. Sweet bike. Thats the statement most people have, the blackened cayenne is a nice classic deep and rich looking color.
The salesman said it was Amber Whiskey Sunglo, all I know is that I like it, last 5 Harley's were Vivid or Denim Black, and yes it does look very different in the sunlight as compared to artificial flouresent light inside the dealership. All the colors this year are really nice though, I just wanted something bright!...LOL
I am obviously biased. But I also love the Blackened Cayenne. The Mysterious Red Sunglo (or whatever it is called) also looks pretty badass. Even the Sand Camo caught my attention. Harley did a great job with the colors of this year.
If you want bright, I say Amber Whiskey or Sand Camo.
