I did not remove my ignition. On the '14s the black switch cover is slotted so it will slide back out from under the ignition.

That's handy to know! Helps keep the forks from locking and preventing further work until you put the ignition back on and start over.
To the OP I took a little bit off of the end of my allen key so it would fit up under the dash a little easier. Rotating my bars a little forward was the best thing I've ever done. No more pain between my shoulders on long rides.
It's a simple process. Like they said, slide the switch plate back after removing 2 screws, loosen the two closest clamp bolts and adjust as needed. Tape on your allen is a good idea. I use the rounded head allen sockets.
