Default Access handlebar clamp ?

If I want to rotate the bars a little, how hard is it to access handlebar clamp ?

Can I get at it without disturbing inner fairing ?

No. Easiest way is to remove the tank, remove the switch cover, remove the outer fairing, remove the blinkers. Then just slightly lift and move forward the inner fairing. It's really not that bad.

If you like pictures this should help. It is for a bar replacement but can be pared down for your "clamp access" question.

Thanks. Looks like once the switch cover is off you could at least access the two rear clamp bolts and give the bars a little tweak.

Yes it can be done! I did it on my Yaffee bars to get them closer to the fairing. I was not looking forward to taking the fairing apart just to push them 1.5 inches forward. This takes 5 or 10 minutes.

1. Remove the ignition.
2. Remove the 4 screws that hold the black cover under the ignition and then remove the black cover this should give you access to the lower 2 allen bolts of the handlebar clamp.
3. Wrap tape around your allen wrench to protect the plastic on the fairing in case it comes in contact with it.
4. Loosen the bottom bolts just a bit or enough to move your handlebars.
5. Set your bars at the desired position.
6. Tighten the clamp bolts a and reassemble.

Edit. I must have been typing this when you posted the comment right above. You are correct.

I did not remove my ignition. On the '14s the black switch cover is slotted so it will slide back out from under the ignition.

Good luck.

I am actually thinking of rotating forward a bit, but not sure what that would do to wrist angle...(which I'm already not fond of).

I wouldn't have thought you could move the bars with just the lower bolts removed. I'll have to keep that in mind in the future.

I find it easier to remove the tank to take the switch panel off than to remove the ignition switch. Couldn't get me switch panel off with the tank on but the tank only takes a couple of min to remove.
