mine were done in 4 hours, no need to extend brake or clutch lines.

I used HD wiring extensions. I've used Poly bushings in the past for taller sets of bars. Didn't bother using them on the Yaffe 12" - the stock ones are perfectly fine IMHO!

As everyone stated... no need for clutch or brake line, stock ones fit. The only extension you need the the NAMZ kit for hand controls. I went with 8" extensions because I wanted to over 4" extensions... a little extra is a good thing.

4 hour install for me included my 30 minute lunch.

The OEM TBW ( Throttle By Wire ) is good for up to 16" bars at least... there is a lot of extra. The only PITA is removing the pins from the Molex connector... and that's not even hard once you get the hang of it.

THEY WILL RENDER YOUR FAIRING MIRRORS USELESS if you pull them back anywhere past 1.5" from the fully forward position. I am 5'7" and have mine pulled back... that's how I know.... fully forward I can use the bottom half of them only. They came off...

I added some Arlen Ness Deep Cut gips, chrome levers and Scythe II mirrors...

All very sage advice from the others - I'll add my experience. It's not that bad of an install if you are willing to do yourself, otherwise 8 hours from dealer is not entirely out of the question.

I put 14" Yaffe MBB on my '14 street glide special this past weekend. One thing to keep in mind, if you do your own work, you will HAVE to let HD bleed the ABS brake lines. I didn't extend brake or hydraulic lines, but did have to remove and re-route inside the fairing to get the necessary length. I did purchase the 12" NAMZ extensions for the internal wiring.

I used a pull wire, and a shop vac to pull the string through the bars (works like a champ). Put tape over the other holes and put shop vac up to bar and it will pull the string through in a sec. Be sure to wrap the string around the wire a good 4-5" with the string and wire wrapped together, so that they don't pull apart. I used some wire lube (you can buy at Home Depot, Lowes, etc) and it took me all of 15-20 mins to pull the internal wiring from start to finish. It took longer to prep the pull string and tie it up to the wiring than it did to pull it. Be sure to push from one side as you pull from the other.

I ended up buying a new TGS sensor from Harley, since the stock one was not really long enough to make work. Beware though, if you buy the TGS, the end that you have to crimp on new ends - stock is backwards on '14 - you have to change the pins from male to female. Easy enough fix, I reused the DT connector from the stock TGS.

Long winded reply to your question, but the short is my friend just had $1800 quoted for 14" bars installed at the local HD shop. The majority was labor.

It took me a full day, off and on, to get mine installed. Biggest issue was the green connestor on the TBW assembly. After fighting it a bunch, I cut it off (as well as the connector for the heated grips) and soldered everything together. Went very smoothly after that.

I used NAMZ 8" extensions for the controls. The TBW and heated grip harnesses were plenty long enough.

I did have to loosen the banjo bolts on both the brake and clutch master cylinders, but just enough to rotate the banjo fitting into proper alignment. No need to bleed anything after that as long as you just crack the fittings.

Good luck!

Had my 12 inchers done at a dealer about 10 months ago. No new cables required as previously stated. Only needed the NAMZ control extensions. Dealer charged me for four hours of labor.

Good luck man, you will love the bars!

After seeing this setup, and researching all types. this is the setup i am currently buying. Love the deep cut grips too.

I had my 10" done at a locate shop, I think they charged me 10 hours. I just bought 12" YAFFE monkey bars because the 10" weren't tall enough and blocked my mirrors. I plan to tackle it myself this weekend, not paying another 1000 for an install. Last year I orignally bought 12s but once I got my bike back I had 10s..... Long / horror story. Lol

With that being said I got a nice set of 10" YAFFE bars for sale..... Anyone????

took me 4.5 hours doing it myself (with the help of a buddy). neither one of us had ever done something like that before. it was a bit nerve racking until we actually got in there and did it. then we realized it's easy as hell. just a little time consuming. the most of our time was spent trying to guide the wires around the bend of the bar. and even though i bought a $30 tool to help me with that....you know what actually ended up doing it for us?.....a piece of string and a nut. lol. so, do it yourself, you'll be much happier with the outcome.
