You can buy a Garmin unit that has Lifetime maps. Those have LMT at the end of their name. If you buy one that does not have LMT, you can buy LMT for that unit. I have one Garmin that came with the LMT and one I bought the LMT for. When you buy the LMT for one that doesn't have it, it will lock to the unit you are buying it for when you activate it.
You can buy a Garmin with a screen about the same size as the HD's screen with life time up dates, 3-4 updates a year, for life. I think you should get up dates through warranty. Just my 2 cents.
Yes, it looks like you have the original release. I noticed on the navi extras site that all their maps, except for the US have been updated to 2014 2Q. The US is still the 2013 Q2. Maybe we can expect an update soon.
should have went with Garmin to do Nav,, I've never heard of Navi**** or what ever it is,, and yes, they should be free, at least for a year or more.. and SHOULD come out with latest version in the bike,, etc... But like mentioned above, I bought a special for two reasons,, ABS, CRUISE, SECURITY, and the COLOR, the radio just came with it...

Same here. Upgraded from an ancient 2012 Ultra, LOL, for the ABS, new bags, wheels, overall minor changes, and am glad to have the infotainment as a bonus. Now, with that said, I find it ludicrous that a brand new 25K plus bike doesn't at least roll off the factory floor with a fairly up to date map database. They should at LEAST give you the first update for free, or a nominal fee, cough, not $150 charge!
Purchased my trike last Friday and emailed a bitch about the database, received the following reply:
I sent this on to our General Manager and Sales Manager; they will be going to the Dealer Meeting next week and talking with the Harley-Davidson Executives and Technicians. I appreciate the feedback because thats the way we can improve.

If there is going to be a "Dealer Meeting next week", everyone in this thread who is upset, should also send a message to their local dealership.
