Default Prime apes or yaffee

Can't decide between the prime apes or 12 inch yaffee monkey bars for my 14 street glide. Anyone have any opinions? Also should I do the poly urethane bushings or just leave the stock ones in?

First thing, I would definitely go with the poly bushings. Second if you like that style and it's only between those two I would begrudgingly go with the Yaffe's.

To add to this a little I also can't decide between 10 or 12 inch. I'm 5'9. Is it true that there is no extensions needed for either one

Just an FYI I was talking with the dealer and they use the HD wire extension kit , says thats all they use for the wiring , it's plug and play , the best part is it's only $30.25 , P/N 69200034 .

Wild 1 says there 10's are bolt on , I've seen guys post some 12's ( Yaffe for 1 ) the stock brake & clutch lines work but wire kits are needed to go internal .

Yes on poly bushings. I'd have to go wit Vindiktas. I know that wasn't a choice but they were the only choice for me.

You can fit 16's with factory lines, just have to pass the MC's through the tree/frame area to free up a bit. Go with the longest harness extension available in case you want to go higher later. You can always bury the wires under the fairing. I had 12" vindikta's for the first year I owned my SGS, didn't like them. My 16" prime apes just got sent off the powder coat but the test fit was exactly what I wanted, can't wait to get them installed. Yaffee's are way overpriced, IMO, and depending on height, up to 6-8 weeks back ordered. I did poly bushings, but the ones the dealer swore I needed fit like crap and I ended up having to modify them.

I went out and bought the poly bushings from Harley before seeing the above post. Can you tell me what was the issue with fitment and what you did to fix it?

Also I still haven't bought bars yet. Still undecided. I have bought the bushings and namz 8 extensions and a hid high and low headlight kit. Just can't figure out what bars to get. I like the yaffee mb but ordering them is difficult when it comes to shipping time. I have been unable to find a third party place that has them either. For the prime apes I'm concerned about the width. Living in Canada doesn't help with shipping or availability either.

I have the Prime Apes and they're awesome, and 150 dollars cheaper. Fit and finish are great.

You have to do the bushings...you would regret not doing them.

I'm in the same boat myself. The prime apes are just so damn wide, and it kills the look IMHO.
