I bet that FLHXSE price is starting to look better and better all the time.
Other than the engine work, I'm not a SE bagger fan. I bought my SGS because of the color (sand camo) and that wasn't available for SE's anyway. The bags aren't low enough for my liking, either. Plus Id still be doing apes, Id have an ENTIRE engine to black out instead of just some covers, and the price... mother of god, the price. It was tough to swallow the $23k tag on my SGS much less $32k(?) for the SE.

It would have been cheaper for me to have bought the CVO. However, all things considered, it's now a "one of a kind", and it was fun doing all the mods. I REALLY like those lighted hand controls..........Looks like it will be on my "to do list".......
Still has to be a PITA installation. Switch caps alone suck!
The entire switch pack (covers and all) is replaced. It's very easy to do. Like I said, the toughest things were the over tightened clutch side bolts (dealer's fault) and the tricky odometer button. You throw away the entire existing switch pack.
Does the lighted switch pack comes with its own odometer button? I am trying to take that out but I cant and I sm afraid to brake it. If possible can you provide details on how to take it out ?

To remove the trigger switch, place your thumbs under the outer edge and push it up towards the ceiling. It will "pop" up just a bit, then pull horizontally towards the grip and it will come off. It does require more effort than expected to get that "pop". I thought I broke mine the first time I did that.
As Afdharley above said you lift the button and then forcefully slide it off towards the grip. It does need more force than you would think but does come off. The worst you could do is need a new cover/button because if you did somehow destroy the actual switch, it is redundant when you fit the new lit unit.
Dang. Had to order some of these switches for the wife's SGS. Putting heated grips on for her so figured that would be as good a time as any to install lighted switches... I guess if all these cool things came stock, we'd be spending over 20 grand on these bikes! Oh wait...
