Have you tried the hard reset yet? Maybe the base maps are missing?

No didn't try a hard reset. It's going to the shop in a few hours so we'll see what the tech does. Well even if the basemaps weren't there at least you should be able to get some type of gps menu items don't ya think? It's acting like there is NO gps installed at all.

I will just be happy the dimming issue is gone. Downloading right now. They need to have an email list for everytime they have an upgrade.

Shop was able to fix the no gps problem I was experiencing. Apparently it wasn't properly initialized when they installed it. Pretty easy fix.

but I have not had a lot of time to test it. I also for the first time have been able to import a route that I built that has about 50 waypoints and 3 stops VA to Austin TX when I select it and hit go it appears to load correctly it also appears correct on the map screen. This is the site I used to make the route

How do you import a route to the Bikes computer?

Go to harley website and build a route. Download the GPX file onto a thumb drive. With the new update it says you can go 100 waypoints although I haven't tried. Go into the sub menu on the NAV and you should be able to load route. I thought I had already done a tutorial video for this but I can't find it.

Use your favorite mapping software. I use Tyre, Basecamp and HD Ride Planner and these all work.

Build your route with your software
Add enough way points to create the route you want to follow
Save/export the file as a GPX
Copy it to a usb drive
On your bike, go to
Navigation---Menu---Import
Once on the import screen, you will see your route(s).
Select your route and then cursor over to the import in the middle
When it is done reading the gpx file (could take 30 or more seconds) Only select the name of your file, do not select all or any of the other way points

It will import your route and bring you back to the import screen.
Go to Nav---Where To---More---Trips
In the trips, select the trip you imported, then select Start

This will guide you to your next way point on the list and so on.

You'll need to delete the update files first, or it will try to install again.

There is no need to keep a backup of the install files, the originals are on Harley's site.
