I have a 14 SGS and Im looking for an air cleaner. Too bad they don't make one that matches the enforcer wheels. Are all aftermarket AC they same for flow? What's good? I don't know what's good. I have a Vance and Hines head pipe and rush big Louie slip-ons.
I'm going to do the race tuner and dyno tune as well.
I just put a K&N replacement air cleaner in my stock housing, and it is getting all the air
the Bike can use. K&N part number is HD-1614 for $60.oo if you only doing a Stage 1 it
may work for you.
Most after market A/Cs will do the job for you... Ness, RSD, HD's, Etc. I understand K&N now has a replacement filter for the stock unit & that would work too.
As far as custom covers go, except for using the stock box w/ the K&N insert most after market covers will work on the round filters with the backing plate. But like most of this stuff, it comes down to personal taste.
I run the Ness BS with the stock 2014 cover. The Ness unit is made for the stock cover & supports it well. There are others that do this too.
Pretty much any A/C you go with will give your engine all the air it needs. I went with the Fuel Moto Pro Billet. It uses the stock cover and the price is great. Just pick one that you like and go with it.
Most all aftermarket A/C's will flow more air than your engine can eat.
However, not all A/C's are the same. Courtesy of the EPA, most feed hot dirty oily air from the engine, right back into the air cleaner, & then the throttle body and combustion chambers. This is Not good for performance, tune stability, or engine longevity. (see pics below)
There are still a few of us that are making air cleaners that let only clean air into the engine.
You can see many choices in looks at this link- HERE The 425, 587, & 636v Complete Systems, all vent externally, letting only clean air into the engine.
If you bundle with fuel moto, and buy the Power Vision tuner, you can get their pro billet air cleaner for $72 extra (Total being $572 for the bundle). Since you said you were going to do the tuner anyway. They will even load a map on it for you before they ship it out, then you can run the auto tune function to fine tune it to your bike. Just tell them what exhaust you are running.

I would look at the air breather kits from DK that are setup for the crankcase venting and then get any cover you want. I have AN big sucker and Alleycat cover but going to have to drill and tap holes to install the cc vent tubing and block off the excising vent holes in the base.

Did that this past Saturday. It is better than the stock filter. I'm very pleased.
