I put mine in with blue over a year ago, have ridden almost 12K, and still tight. No way I would put red on there, it would take way too much heat to break it loose if you ever wanted/needed to remove it one day.
I always use blue unless it's on a major supporting fastener and it's in a through and through hole with a nut on the other side. You don't need heat to release red loctite, you just gotta put the screws to it when you try removing, and may break the smaller fasteners with that much torque.
I used blue on my 09 and it never loosened over 5 years of riding so I used it again on my 2015. The thing is the bolts screw in a long way so there would be a lot of warning, wiggling for a long time before they actually came all the way out.
I'll give you a tip. What ever accessory you latch on, make sure to disassembled the pre-installed nuts and bolts, and apply Loctite there too. I wrongly assumed thread locker would have been applied to those by the factory. Nut and bolt vibrated loose from the C shaped latch of my rack.
