FP3 Users...Auto Tune screenshots
If not,then give V&H a call.
Now my question is if i were to select the current map (position 3) and autotune am i further refining that map?

Maybe with more people sharing their questions/experiences and knowledge will help others.
Here is a screen shot of mine after a short ride, I have a long ways to go but I had ran into a problem.
While auto tuning I stopped at a gas station and shut down the bike for ten minutes came back out started the bike up my phone paired up and I got the map to show up immediately,
met up with some friends a couple of miles up the rd from the station and again I shut down the bike this time for about twenty minutes or so, once I started the bike up the phone paired up and said FP3 was in auto tune mode it showed the grid on my phone but no orange or green cells they were all white.
I tried reconnecting a few times, but I kept getting the same results with all white cells. I did have the option to apply or finish but again the cells were all white.
Anyone know why they were all white? and is it bad to disconnect the FP3 if its in auto tune mode?
I took the screen shot with a Samsung, using the swipe of the hand method I don't know if all androids do that or just the Samsung.

It doesn't hurt to disconnect the phone from the FP3 while in auto tune. You don't even need to take the phone with you. Everything is stored on the FP3. I connect with my Galaxy S 5 when riding but use my I pad when in the garage at home.
Select original tune or canned tune?
Select auto tune
remove phone
Ride for awhile trying to fill the spots green
connect the phone again find auto tune results and save?
do this a couple times and then apply the tune to bike?
is this the procedure for a first time auto tuner?
Thanks
Hap

Then select the map you want to auto tune. This should be the map you obtained from V&H and are currently running. It will be blue and say it's the current map. The auto tune will create a new map after you run the auto tune and finalize it called auto tune(1) in a different slot and say created from the map in slot #. You can also go in and change the name of the maps and description under edit if you want. It doesn't change or delete the map you auto tuned so you can flash back to it later if you want.
Once the auto tune is started you can either keep your phone connected and track the progress or disconnect your phone. If you disconnect, when you recnnect later it will show you the learned values just like if you were connected the whole time. It may take several minutes to sync up.
After you've ridden at least 30-40 miles at different speeds and RPMs under different conditions, Like around town in stop and go traffic, slow parking lot maneuvers, at different speeds on the highway in 4th 5th and 6th gears to get a variety of RPM and load conditions you should have a good number of green cells. Riding up and down hills also helps to get a variety of TPS cells at the same RPM. You can check the progress on your phone and see where the green cells are then try to ride more in the RPM's that are still orange. You can actually get very low RPM x TPS cells when parked by holding the throttle to keep the RPM's at the cells RPM you want green. Once you have a decent amount of cells green you should apply the tune (don't finalize yet). That will cause the screen to go back to all white. Then you repeat the process 3 or 4 times. After learning and applying several times you will finish the auto tune by selecting Finalize. This will start the bike running on the new tune.
The bike wont run as well and will run hotter during the auto tune process. This is normal and nothing to worry about. After you have finalized the auto tune the bike should run better than it did before the auto tune started.
If you want you can re auto tune the auto tuned map. If you do it will create a new Map called auto tune(2) and say it was created from the first auto tune.

User error on my part, didn't realize that you can scroll the "which map to autotune" list, was only showing 0 and 1, but sure enough, when scrolled it showed my attuned maps...
Another note though - after I finalized the last map, the bike felt a little hotter and slower than base V&H map (no decel piping tough) so I emailed them about. I was told to just flash the base map, do a quick autotune session to eliminate the pooping, and finalize it. I over-autotuned it... will try it when it finally stops raining, but I'm a little skeptical...
