Anyone know where the GPS gets it's speed reading from? Is it the satellite like a normal car GPS or from the bike's speed sensor?
Reason I ask is that my GPS and speedometer are EXACTLY the same reading, at all speeds. Seems odd to me they wouldn't differ just a bit unless they are using the same signal.
They probably did that for a reason, you know how many guys would be at the dealership wanting to get their bike fixed if their speedo was not calibrated correct.
Yes, it is the speed sensor like other's said. I used my power vision and ran the speedo correction way down and way up and the gps speed stays about with the bikes speed.
Does anyone know how to keep the GPS from getting the speed sensor
signal. I would like to keep the GPS from seeing the signal.
Huh? If you don't want it displayed on the GPS screen data field, choose a different option.
Beyond that, I believe it may use the speed signal to calculate arrival time & time to turn options? Disabling that speed signal input may cause those functions to produce errors? IDK, just seems that's how it works, since we know the speed display comes from the vehicle speed sensor & NOT from a GPS calculated speed...
