Thanks man, appreciate it. Twice, I was fortunate enough to do the Run For The Wall, riding out to California & catching the beginning of it & riding the whole way to DC, take part in Rolling Thunder, then ride home. About 6300 miles for me. If you ever get the chance - what an experience.

I also set the 6.5GT preferences for shortest & make sure I include enough waypoints to assure point to point is on the shortest route.
I agree - it can do some strange things, but to be honest I had a Garmin that would do it too. On 1 particular highway, it would not let me enter going south at the entrance close to where I lived - I had to go north & get the previous entrance, then go past my house to go south.

I noticed in the Boom! Box 2015 manual they are specific in telling you the GPS does not import the actual route from the GPX file, but generates its own based on the destinations & waypoints you have selected, the settings you have selected in the GPS itself - & I would imagine the GPS maps. I've been down to DC enough to know how to get to where I want to go, so this is just sort of an exercise to see how it will work on a road trip. I've thrown a waypoint or 2 in there also, making sure they are beyond intersections where I want to turn & in the lane I need them to be on interstates. There shouldn't be any U-turns required to cross a waypoint!

I use S&T 2010. The only way I can get them to work on the Boom is to make the route and save it like I would normally with S&T, not as a GPX file. Then reopen the trip with Route Converter. It is a fee download. Here is the link. http://www.routeconverter.com/home/en

Once it is open it Route Converter you can make changes to the route by clicking a spot on the route to create a waypoint, then drag that waypoint to the road you want it to take if you need to make a change to the route. Other wise you can now save it to another folder and Route Converter will save it as a GPX file that you can import to the Boom. Hope this helps.
