The BOOM! 6.5 on my '15 RGS defaults to the WB after I press ACCEPT at start up. Is there a way to change the default to MEDIA after I press ACCEPT? I never read my owner's manual, so I don't even know if it's an available default...and I can't find my manual anyway
This is one of those inconsistencies that has yet to be fully resolved.
My process, which results in what you want has been working for the last several rides. (about 15 starts)
I shut down the radio (radio power button 3 second hold) before shutting the bike down with kill switch and then ignition.
When i start:
Ignition on, boom screen is alive HD and line goes across the screen. Then:
Kill switch on, I pause for about 5 seconds then
Start bike.
Accept screen comes up.
Either Accept or let it go off on it's own, either way HD logo and time come up and the radio is still OFF.
Next i turn power button on and radio comes up to my IPOD and starts playing the last song.
Now i don't think i should have to go thru this exact process and the software should default to the last item it was at , ie WB, FM, usb, ipod, and/or after pairing moment phone.
But until they fix it, this is what i do and it has been consistent.
I have my WB turned off, and at start up , the accept screen, then the radio comes on until the system acknowledges my phone, if it's plugged in. If I haven't plugged my phone into the USB, it plays the last radio station I had on. No issues whatsoever
I would suggest reading the manual... Or hire Manuel to read the manual to you.
These systems are a bit quirky. Mine always starts on music, but it's a crapshoot whether it will be FM or iPod.
As initially stated, I can't find my manual and if I ever find it my buddy Manuel can't or won't read it anyway....not his job . Not a super big deal anyway cuz I can't hear **** above 45mph, but there have been times when I'm on a slow roll below 45mph where it'd have been nice to hear what my iPod was playing.
The weather has been too good since delivery and I've been too excited about riding my scoot e-v-e-r-y-f-r-e-e-k-i-n'-d-a-y to sit around and read it and there were/are MILES of roads to ride before **** happens. Oh yeah...for sure I'll read it and try to comprehend it when I find it...but in the meantime I was hoping to get an assist from the good folks here
Just trying to help... there is GREAT info in there.
But mine still starts where it wants. But it is NEVER weather, always either my FM channel or my iPod, I think sometimes the iPod takes more time to boot or sync, so it goes to FM.
This is a MOCO problem , some have it most don't. I'm one of the lucky one that have it. Have tried different things , so far the only thing that has worked is to reset favorites to FM and leave Ipod unplugged. I think Ipod confuses the poor thing and it reverts to the weather band and resets my favorite to weather band. I'm thinking Apple doesn't play well with others and is beating this systems ***.
Mine seems to always start on USB now, but I've been having the intermittent screen freeze, and earlier today I had no volume control? Could change songs, but not adjust volume. Was at a red light in traffic so I shut 'er down then cranked her back up and it was fine. This Boom system software is effed up....
