I don't know anything about Chopper slip-ons but if that's the sound you want go for it. A dyno tune seems kind of overkill just for mufflers and intake when there are now some very effective devices (FP3, Power Vision, etc.) that'll get your bike dialed in.
Yeah , what Ridewva said. If you are going with a certain intake and certain mufflers, chances are, the companies have already developed a MAP for that combo. So you won't have to pay for something someone already did. If not, and you are mix matching, chances you will get close with a stamped map. If you are going with a custom combo, like bigger throttle body, bigger cams, head work, you are sticking in thousands and then you would probably want to know what the numbers are.
If you are going to change things here and there in the future, then I would suggest something like Thundermax with Autotune that will keep up with all the changes. You spend $350 on a good dyno now, then add cams, another dyno, add throttle body, another dyno, heads, dyno. Keep that all in prospective.
My combo is Kuryaken Velociraptor AC, Rinehart true duals, and Thundermax. It is fast and lots of power. No dyno for me. But if I change anything, the auto-tune feature will just adapt. Hope that helps.
