That but I'm more interested in the reported "lock up" the SM told him about on another bike that reportedly had the problem.
Yeah, I agree.
But the other threads on this forum about the knock/engine noise, these few have had to have engine replacement. One asked if their dealer would ask Harley if they would tell them what they found when Harley got the engine back. Their SM said, "Harley won't tell us anything in a case like this."I'm fairly good friends with the GM at the dealer. Thought I would ask what they find wrong with the SG.
I'm not a 'hot rodder'. The bike has been ridden like I a normal person should. All service has been done by me and when it was required. Used quality oil, Mobil 1. No reason on my part for a problem.
Well if he has read these forums he would know, it could be a lifter or a compensateor, or anything else. as far as the sales person not caring, it is a harley they hold their value and if it brakes it is under warranty for two years.
And the good deal you got trust me the dealer made money on you!!!!!
My 2010 had a bad lifter , if I rode it it would pump up and be fine. brought it to dealer same stuff no noise NOW. so i finally left it their till they replaced the lifters. All good after that.
